Tucked away in a beautifully preserved heritage Manse building on Tynte Street, Ruby Red Flamingo is one of North Adelaide’s most distinctive and characterful venues for private functions. Opened in 2012 as a pop-up restaurant, it proved so popular with Adelaide diners that it became a permanent fixture, and it’s easy to see why. The combination of an old stone building, garden courtyard, warm Italian hospitality, and amazing food makes it a venue that feels special without trying too hard.

Authentic Italian, Designed for Sharing

Ruby Red Flamingo calls their function offering “The Italian Table Feast” – a four-course shared banquet where your group selects from the à la carte menu across starters, pasta, mains, and desserts. It’s a format designed for celebration, conversation, and eating well together.

This is not a venue for a formal plated sit-down corporate dinner, it’s a venue for occasions where the food is part of the celebration itself. Think long lunches, milestone birthdays, family gatherings, and warm evening events where the meal takes its time.

Ruby Red Flamingo offers several distinct spaces, making it suitable for intimate private dinners through to full venue hire for larger celebrations.

The Fish Room seats up to 30 guests for a sit-down dinner and is the venue’s primary private dining space. It works beautifully for birthday dinners, rehearsal dinners, christening lunches, and small wedding receptions.

The Meletti Room is the most intimate option, seating 10 guests. Ideal for a private dinner celebration, a small hens party, or a close-knit milestone occasion where atmosphere matters more than size.

The Upstairs Gallery Room seats 25 guests and offers a slightly different ambience. a great choice for engagement parties, smaller family celebrations, or a private group dinner with a bit of character.

The Garden Marquee is the outdoor option, seating up to 60 guests. Sun-drenched for summer lunches and warm enough for evening events, it’s particularly popular for christening lunches, engagement parties, and relaxed milestone celebrations that benefit from an alfresco feel.

Exclusive Venue Hire  for larger events, Ruby Red Flamingo can be booked exclusively, accommodating up to 100 guests seated. This is the right option for weddings, large milestone birthday celebrations, significant family gatherings, or any occasion where you want the entire venue to yourself.

Note: Sunday lunches are specifically available for exclusive function bookings, making Ruby Red Flamingo one of the more flexible options in North Adelaide for daytime events.

Ruby Red Flamingo is located at 142 Tynte Street, North Adelaide. A quiet, tree-lined street a short walk from the O’Connell Street café and dining precinct. It’s approximately 10 minutes from the Adelaide CBD by car or tram, making it an easy choice for guests travelling from across Adelaide. Street parking is generally available on Tynte Street and surrounding streets. The venue is also accessible via the Adelaide tram network, with stops a short walk away.
