This quarter July - September has been especially exciting for Event Scene as we have seen some real results pay off from our SEO efforts. And just in time for Christmas functions too.... those venues on the category list 'Christmas Party Venues Adelaide' are filling up quickly with the page ranking in 1st position for the same google search. In September alone the venues on this category list received 1891 views.

Bring on spring and summer! This is an exciting period in the events industry as with the warmer weather brings the season of celebration. Whether its a birthday, engagement, anniversary, wedding or end of your Christmas celebration… there are many many reasons to throw party.

In September alone the venues on this category list received 1891 views.

There are various ways to market your venue for functions and to grow your functions revenue, it is important to be across them all.

  • In house advertising (flyers, chalk boards, bill folders)
  • Your own customer email data base
  • Social media
  • Word of mouth
  • And this is where Event Scene comes in… Google Search

As an individual venue it is very difficult to make it to the first page of Google for the main function venue finding searches. This is where Event Scene has really focused down to help South Australian customers find unique South Australian venues. With enough content and information about the venue on the site to really help the customer narrow down the list to the venues that would best suit their needs and easily get in touch with them.

If your potential customers can’t find you through Google, then you are missing out of a large portion of the market.

Remember we are ONLY based in South Australia, so these numbers are only for South Australian venues. Google Analytics tells us that for September, 76% of the visitors to Event Scene are Adelaide based. So this is locals looking for local venues.

These numbers are the overview. If you have a listing, you’ll be sent statistics showing the number of enquiries you have received and the number of page views for your venue.

This is excellent as it shows we are strong on the first page of google. This is how you capture the attention of clients that wouldn’t have otherwise thought to book with you.

PAGE VIEWS: 39,955

AVERAGE PAGES PER SESSION: 6.39

Customers are spending time browsing to select their venue. So the enquiries you are getting are high value… after looking at a number of venues, they have chosen to contact you.

SESSIONS: 6,257

AVG SESSION DURATION: 3mins 20 secs

BOUNCE RATE: 4.06%

Bounce rate means the number of people who come to the website and then leave without going to a second page. This is low meaning customers have come to the right place to find their venue.

So how many enquiries are going through to the venues?

In the three month period reviewed:

187 enquiry forms

Links are customers linking through to your website and social channels to enquire directly with you.
Enquiry forms are forms sent from your listing page directly to your inbox.

We have seen a long time trend of customers preferring to contact the business directly through their own website. That is why we still have the website link available and track this as an enquiry.

For individual venues the top performers are:

TOP FEATURED LISTING VENUE:

Basement Bar was again tracking ahead with the most enquiries and page views, which Electra House again very close behind. These are two very different venues, showing different customers browsing for venues on Event Scene.

TOP STANDARD LISTING VENUE:

The Royal Oak was again the leading standard listing for most enquiries and page views. Again followed closely by OAR. Oar is stunning new venue on West Lakes shore, showing that venues further away from the CBD are also doing well advertising through Event Scene.
