The Exhibition Space

Located in the Adelaide CBD, The Mill features two galleries-the Exhibition Space and Showcase-which present independent exhibitions and residencies from The Mill’s resident studio artists and external artists. This flexible light-filled space is available for hire for all types of events such as

training

It is an intimate venue for audiences of up to 120 people standing and 50 seated. The 86sqm venue is uniquely T-shaped featuring cement floors and art-filled walls and includes air-conditioning, sound and lighting infrastructure, and ceiling projectors.

The Mill’s Exhibition Space and Showcase are curated year-round, meaning you can enjoy the space and save on decor! The Mill’s ‘What’s On’ page highlights current and upcoming exhibitions in both of the gallery spaces. Our small portable bar, with wine and beer sponsors, and alcohol license allows us to cater to groups large and small. We can also provide catering and staff should it be required.

The Breakout

The Breakout is The Mill’s performing arts space and home to programs including The Breakout Residencies, Masterclasses, Adelaide Fringe season and more. This space is also available meetings, presentations and other corporate events. The Breakout regularly hosts performance artists for rehearsals and developments, ideal for small, performance-based companies. It is an intimate performance venue for audiences of up-to 80 people standing and 50 seated theatre style. The 100sqm venue has a sprung floor, acoustic treatment, air-conditioning, sound and lighting infrastructure, and a small stage by prior arrangement.

The flexible space is available for hire in 1-hour to 1-month blocks, and is suitable corporate uses or for rehearsals, developments, performances, gigs or events.Our small bar license also allows us to cater for groups large and small (dependent on Covid-19 restrictions) and we can also provide catering and staff.
